OMNIA FIRE RATED GLASS AND SYSTEMS
Fire performance is always defined by the complete assembly, not by glass alone.
OMNIA offers fire-rated solutions through fully tested system combinations, integrating certified fire-resistant glass with aluminum or steel framing systems.
Fire-rated performance is achieved through certified system combinations integrating:
-
Fire-resistant glass
-
Fire-rated aluminum framing systems
-
Fire-rated steel framing systems
Protection can be provided through:
-
Glass-only integrity solutions (within certified framing)
-
Glass + aluminum systems
-
Glass + steel systems
The final fire classification depends on the complete tested assembly, not on glass alone.
Fire Classification Explained
E – Integrity
Prevents flames and hot gases from passing through.
EW – Integrity + Radiation Control
Prevents flames and limits radiant heat transfer.
EI – Integrity + Thermal Insulation
Prevents flames and significantly limits temperature rise on the non-fire side.
Typical ratings:
E30 / E60
Integrity maintained for 30 or 60 minutes.
EW30 / EW60
Integrity and limited radiant heat control for 30 or 60 minutes.
EI30 / EI60 / EI90 / EI120
Integrity and thermal insulation maintained for 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the rating.
Single Glazed
Intumescent Fire Glass
Construction:
-
Tempered safety glass layers
-
Sealed multi-chamber structure
-
Transparent UV-stable intumescent interlayer
How It Works:
In case of fire, the interlayer expands into an opaque insulating foam, providing full EI (Integrity + Insulation) performance.
Laminated
Intumescent Fire Glass
Construction:
-
Intumescent fire glass
-
Additional laminated safety glass layer (one or both sides)
Added Performance:
-
Impact resistance
-
Fall protection compliance
-
Enhanced post-breakage safety
Fire-Rated
Insulated Glass Unit (IGU)
Construction:
-
Intumescent fire glass
-
Double or triple glazed unit
-
Argon or Krypton gas filling
-
Optional low-E and/or solar control coatings
Added Performance:
-
Thermal insulation (low U-values)
-
Energy efficiency
-
Exterior facade compatibility
